What are Sunshine Funds?

We believe that cost should not be a barrier to joining in our community. Sunshine Funds are scholarships that can fund event-related fees for attendees in need, fundraised through our community’s generosity.

What will Sunshine Funds cover?

Sunshine Funds are prioritized for event fees, camping fees, and registration fees. The Funds can cover these fees either partially or in full, depending on your need.

Does that mean that Sunshine Funds cannot be used for meals, or upgraded accommodations like cabins?

Our community is generous in donating, but Sunshine Funds are still a limited resource, and we want to make sure we prioritize event fees and camping fees to benefit the most people possible. That said, if covering another expense would make your participation possible, especially for accessibility reasons, please email admin@stonecirclecouncil.org to discuss with an Officer. 

How to request Sunshine Funds for an event?

When registering for an event, once at the payment screen choose “Invoice me”. This will complete registration without requiring payment.

Then send an email to admin@stonecirclecouncil.org requesting Sunshine Funds be applied to your balance. You can request full coverage of the balance, or partial coverage.

An SCC Officer will reach out within the next week to confirm the use of the Sunshine Funds and answer any questions you might have, and then will apply the Funds to your balance on the site.

Will using Sunshine Funds alter my event experience?

No, the event experience is exactly the same to attendees using Sunshine Funds or not. No additional volunteer work is required.

Who will know that I requested or used Sunshine Funds?

Sunshine Fund usage is only visible to the current SCC Officers, who administer the fund.

How to donate to Sunshine Funds

You can contribute to the Sunshine Funds by either donating on our website (or clicking the "Donate" button at the top or bottom of the screen) and selecting “Apply my donation to Sunshine Funds”, or when registering for an event, you have the option to add on a Sunshine Funds contribution to your registration.
