Volunteering: the Pathways of Service

Welcome to the Pathways of Service information page! Pathways of Service are what we call the various groups of humans that make the Stone Family Gathering....well, happen. Participation in the Work is half the fun of the event, and we try to build events that everyone can contribute to. Everyone's got a gift worth sharing.

Take a look at the open calls below, and see what strikes your fancy. Roles can be signed up for via Registration, or by Emailing Admin.


  • Darla Darlings - Coffee Pavilion folks that keep supplies stocked, make fresh coffee and hot water, and haul water as needed. Keep Creamer cool with Ice runs
  • Event Breakdown - All things post event. Trash gathering and disposal in proper location, tent tear down, cabin cleanouts, etc.
  • Fire-tending - Bardic circle and torches tending, evening fires and ritual work. 
  • Registration Desk - Greet attendees, check in and provide wrist bands, information, programs, etc
  • Truck Loading/Unloading at Storage Unit - Gathering things from the storage unit in Hagerstown Md, loading into uhaul truck, unloading on site. Folks needed for both sides of trip
  • Truck Loading On site Post Event - Loading the Uhaul on site with items bound for the storage Unit. Unloading at storage unit post event, folks needed for both sides of event
  • Stone Bus Shuttle Driver - Driving the designated Stone Buses, walkie talkie operator, giving rides as requested and around scheduled rituals/event times
  • SunShine Market Leftover Donation Coordinator - Taking leftovers from the fundraiser table and donating to desired charity shop
  • Sacral Foods - Help with the nourishment that keeps us going through stone pulls and rising day
  • First Aid Team - Holding a current or past first aid certificate, taking shifts, being on duty and responding to community needs. Walkie Talkie operator, will be given a manual, first aid kit, and armband to wear during shifts. 
  • Ritual Team - Filling small roles as needed, or big roles if volunteering during planning. Helping with set up
  • Lighting Crew - Working with ritual team and set up crews, getting lights ready for evening needs
  • Stone Crew Newbie - Want to learn all things ropes and rollers? Concrete curious? Flag yourself a newbie and we'll make sure you have a buddy to answer questions and get you involved
  • White Board Wrangler - Responsible for updating the white board schedules every single morning. 
  • Volunteer Coordinator  - A team lead position to serve as a point person for volunteers and questions, will be given a list of all volunteers, and authority to track folks down
