Join Stone Circle Council for a magical weekend of watching the total Solar Eclipse. Geographical viewing areas are limited, so we will be traveling north towards Lake Erie. It will be *cold* with probable overnight lows in the 30s and daily highs likely not more than 55. Our venue, therefore, will be hotel-style!
The weekend will include outdoor viewing of almost 2 full minutes (1m52s) of totality. We will be including beverages, meals, and snacks for the weekend in registration!
The weekend will lead to ample opportunities to connect, relax, do magic, learn some things, and witness something that won't be back in the States for the next 20 years! That's the basics!
Registration closes Feb 29!

Eclipse Magic Musings
I've been thinking about the upcoming eclipse and why we are excited about it. I found a few webpages that give some great thoughts on it. I have shared my favorites below. - Liz
Pagan beliefs focus on human relationships with the earth. Nature and the seasons have significance.
In Pagan worship, a solar eclipse is seen as the union of the sun and the moon. Pagans call on those who witness the solar eclipse to look into the dark parts of themselves.
Pagans believe eclipses are times for communing with their gods and goddesses due to heightened energy during such a rare cosmic event.

This transcript from NPR is a fantastic read. It is a short read, and I encourage everyone to check it out.

According to Choctaw legend, a mischievous black squirrel gnawing on the Sun is the cause of eclipses. Like the Chinese dragon, the squirrel must be frightened away by the clamor and yells of the event's human witnesses. Ojibwa and Cree peoples have a story that a boy (or sometimes dwarf) named Tcikabis sought revenge on the Sun for burning him. Despite the protestations of his sister, he caught the Sun in a snare, causing an eclipse. Various animals tried to release the Sun from the trap, but only the lowly mouse could chew through the ropes and set the Sun back on its path.
