Stone Family Gathering Newsletter 2021

It's here at last!  An In-person Gathering of Tribe to Raise Stones!

The Stone Family Gathering at Stonesong Center

Friday, September 3 through  Sunday, September 5, 2021

In 2020 we met without family in an all virtual format and raised nearly one hundred stones in a Stone Circle which now spans three continents.  Join us this year as we return to Stonesong Center in Flintstone, Maryland to continue the work we started there in 2019.

This year the Stone Family Gathering, normally occurring over 5 days of togetherness, ceremony, work, and celebration, has been shortened to 2 and a half days of in-person and virtual gathering, culminating in new Stones raised up to honor the community that created them.

Other health and safety measures taken for this event include mandatory masking in public areas, COVID-19 vaccination requirement, outdoor ceremony & workshops only, individual dining areas, designated bathing areas, cleaning rounds, and plenty of hand sanitizer!

Our gathering will also be livestreamed throughout the weekend, with some virtual programming for celebrants desiring to participate off-site.

Please note that evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination is required to attend this event for all celebrants 12 years of age and older.

(Pre-event Thursday work-day on September 2, virtual programming only)

What to know about the Venue:

Stonesong Center is a welcoming space nestled in the Allegheny Mountains of Western Maryland. It includes a beautiful farmhouse overlooking 23 acres of luscious field & woodland.

Attendees may camp on-site, costs of which are included in the cost of registration. Off-site local accommodations are available. Day passes are available if staying off-site.

Stonesong Center has required that any visitor to their property produce evidence of COVID-19 vaccination. If you have not been vaccinated or cannot produce evidence of vaccination, the all-virtual attendance option only will be available.

Stonesong Center does not permit personal campfires, so be mindful of this detail when planning meals.

Stonesong Center does not have trash-service so please plan to pack-out anything you pack-in.

Volunteers keep the wheels turning!

To ensure the safest possible event the need for volunteers at SFG is higher than ever. Keep your loved ones safe - volunteer for a shift setting up tech, cleaning rounds, or helping with the coffee and the registration. Sign-Up Genius link found here:
